The Government of La Rioja participates in the LIFE project to improve the conservation of the European mink in Spain. The Department of Environment will work in the development of two protocols for early detection and the eradication of American mink. It is the greatest enemy of this species.

The Minister of Environment, Íñigo Nagore, and the General Director of Natural Environment, Miguel Urbiola, today announced that the Government of La Rioja has joined the LIFE Lutreola Spain Project “New approaches for the European mink Conservation in Spain”, which was recently approved and whose main objective is to improve the situation of this mammal, considered endangered.
